Staffordshire Choir through to finals of the Midlands Choir of the Year competition
Staffordshire Show Choir is thrilled to announce its advancement to the finals of the Midlands Choir of the Year competition.
After a ‘stunning’ performance – held at the semi-finals held on Sunday, May 19 at St Mary’s Hub – the choir will now compete in the finals at the historic Lichfield Cathedral on July 7.
The semi-final performance allowed the choir to showcase their talent and dedication, earning them a coveted spot in the finals. Under the direction of conductor Ashley Mellor, the choir captivated the judges with their harmonious blend and dynamic stage presence.
“We are incredibly proud of our choir members for their hard work and outstanding performance at the semi-finals,” said Ashley, Conductor of the Staffordshire Show Choir.
“Advancing to the finals at Lichfield Cathedral is a tremendous honour, and we are excited to bring our best performance to such a prestigious venue with other exceptional choirs from across the Midlands.”
The Midlands Choir of the Year competition is renowned for celebrating choral excellence across the region. The final event promises to be a memorable evening, with top choirs from across the Midlands showcasing their musical prowess in the stunning setting of Lichfield Cathedral.
Staffordshire Choir will perform at around 7:30pm at the finals. Tickets for the final competition are available for purchase through the Lichfield Festival website.
