Pop up Park and Summer Activities in Newcastle-under-Lyme Town Centre
Newcastle-under-Lyme Town Centre has welcomed a delightful new addition with the introduction of a brand new ‘pop-up park’ on Red Lion Square.
The charming green space, that aims to enhance the overall ambience of the town centre provides shoppers with a relaxing and inviting atmosphere to enjoy quality time with friends and family.
The space is one of a number of initiatives launched by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID designed to create a welcoming and forward thinking town for the whole community.
The space will also be home to an incredible programme of FREE workshops during the summer holidays to foster creativity and playfulness amongst children.
A range of curated themed days will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays, themes such as Summer Holidays, Around the World, Recycle Reuse and Circus will play host to collaborations with local creatives and organisations such as illustrator Chloe Breeze, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, storyteller Alan Barrett with further opportunities to meet exotic and small animals.
During sunnier weather there will also be toys for children to play with as well as a selection of books for all ages.
“We are so excited to launch the Pop-Up Park in Newcastle under Lyme,” said Charlotte Pearce, BID Manager.
“The area provides a pop of colour to Red Lion Square and offers a nice relaxing place for those in the town to take a moment to sit and unwind whilst they’re shopping or even during lunch breaks. This is a green space in the town, for the town and the feedback we’ve already had from the public has been fantastic. We’re also keen for those who work in the town to utilise the space as an opportunity to move away from the work place, get some fresh air and even eat their lunch in a welcoming environment.
“We do ask that those visiting the park think green and keep it clean by using bins located near the area for rubbish so that it remains a space that everyone can enjoy.
“We understand that school holidays can be costly to entertain and engage children and as such, the free activities will offer parents a cost effective way to entertain children whilst staying in their local area.”
