Etruria Canals Festival is back for 2022
ETRURIA CANALS FESTIVAL is back…
This year’s Etruria Canals Festival will take place at the Etruria Industrial Museum site on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June from 11am to 5pm.
Alongside a historic narrowboat gathering along the banks of the Caldon canal there will be a range of family friendly workshops and entertainment, children’s games and activities, story telling and performances, craft demonstrations, working blacksmith’s forge, stalls, street food, tea room and beer tent.
To reflect the Queen’s Jubilee, the theme is ‘Women Who Have Lived Extraordinary Lives’ with the emphasis on ‘Women of the Waterways’. A range of hands-on activities, arts projects and exhibitors will bring it to life.
Entrance to the festival site and parking is from Etruria Vale Road, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 4RB and is FREE.
This historic site, which is at the junction of the Trent and Mersey and Caldon canals, is home to Jesse Shirley’s 1857 Bone and Flint mill which is the only remaining operational potters’ mill in the world. It will be in steam from 12.30pm to 4.30pm each day. Entrance to the Mill £6.00 per adult. Guided tour £8.00 per adult (subject to availability). Young people under 16 free when with a paying adult. Unfortunately, there is limited access to the mill for those with mobility difficulties.
