TOP PUB TRANSFORMED INTO STUNNING VENUE

The-Top-Pub-Brown-Edge

THE TOP PUB has been completely transformed thanks to the vision and mission of its owners who took on the premises six years ago.

Anthony Bedson, along with Adam and Nina Whalley, took over The Top Pub, which sits in an idyllic setting on Hilltop, Brown Edge, in 2016 with huge plans to create a brand new customer experience.

Their plans started to come to fruition in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic and the pub has now  undergone a whole refurbishment to provide a family-friendly atmosphere along with a unique venue for weddings and other celebrations.

A run down outdoor area has been revamped and boasts its own celebration marquee suitable for 50 people as well as a bar area and inside what was once a games room is, now a family-friendly seating area for traditional pub meals.

“When we took over the pub we had ideas on what we wanted to do and how to do it,” says Anthony.

“When we first came here the pub had a games area for darts and pool and things like that, but things were looking tired and we wanted to completely provide a new look going forward.

“As we were planning on how to get things moving as well as getting used to owning and running everything, the pandemic struck and it was either we sank or we used the time to complete the renovations. So we decided to continue and go ahead and we have been able to extend not only our family-friendly seating area, but our outdoor area has been doubled.

“It has been a long-haul – especially during all of the lockdowns – but we have pushed on and can honestly say it’s a joy to see so many people enjoying our new look.”

Through the hard work of the directors, plus support from family and friends, the pub is now a venue for many occasions.

The-Top-Pub-Wedding

As well as serving food seven Days a week, The Top Pub has already played host to several weddings in the last 12 months and more bookings are flooding in.

Adam says: “Weddings are proving to be quite popular with us now and it’s great to see. We have such fantastic views where we are situated, and as well as our brand new look, people love visiting us and the surrounding areas, as we are situated within minutes of Stoke-on-Trent City Centre, the Staffordshire Moorlands and Cheshire.

“Our outdoor area is fully open and indoors we can now cater for more than 100 guests if required. We just really enjoy being able to provide more than a country pub – we now have a complete venue for all.”
