Staffordshire IT firm joins one of sector’s fastest-growing companies
A leading Staffordshire IT security and Microsoft 365 specialists has been bought by one of the sector’s fastest-growing companies.
Prompt PC in Newcastle-under-Lyme will join Linten Technologies in a deal which will see the business enhance its IT management services to customers across the county.
Founded in 1997, Prompt PC grew a dedicated team of IT specialists led by former managing director Andrew Eardley, building a reputation for their customer service and turnaround time. The acquisition will see all of Prompt PC’s current five-strong workforce retained, who will continue to deliver the same customer first service for businesses across Staffordshire.
Founder Andrew Eardley said: “Having built Prompt PC into one of Staffordshire’s leading IT specialists over the past 25 years, we have helped hundreds of businesses in the county grow by providing robust IT solutions. Linten has established itself one of the best specialist IT services in the UK. I can’t think of another team better placed to take Prompt PC forward and support our clients. As well as continuing to deliver its personal service, Prompt PC will now be able to provide a wider number of solutions, including VOIP phone systems and cloud-based CCTV.”
Linten Technologies CEO Steven Allan said the move was a natural progression to realise the shared values and synergies between both organisations.
“Prompt PC and Linten Technologies have been working closely together for the past six months,” he said.
“Both companies are built on the foundations of support and innovation, delivered with exceptional customer service. The opportunity came to bring both businesses together to enhance our offerings and customer support. We were only too pleased to bring Prompt PC into the Linten family.”
Wanting to continue and grow the Prompt PC brand, Linten Technologies will continue delivering their quality IT solutions, enhanced by the wider services and support of the Linten Technologies infrastructure.
The demand for specialist IT services has increased as businesses evolve the way they work to a hybrid, even remote working, model.
Manchester-based Linten Technologies has enjoyed an average of 26% year-on-year turnover growth over the last five years. The combined turnover of both firms is £1.5 million.
“I am naturally delighted to welcome everyone at Prompt PC to the Linten family,” added Allan. “We have been helping businesses use technology to their advantage for the last 20 years. As we grow, our valued clients can expect the same quality, personalised service that they have always enjoyed whilst drawing on an even wider breadth of knowledge and experience.”
Prompt PC and Linten Technologies also welcome a new head of commercial and operations Danny Ballantyne.
The former senior project manager at the NHS will manage the daily operational functions of the business to ensure sustained commercial success.
Ballantyne said he was relishing the new challenge- “This is a crucial and exciting time for Prompt PC,” he said. “We are in a prime position to cement Prompt PC and Linten Technologies as industry leaders. I am really looking forward to driving yet more growth, while elevating our reputation as the go-to IT service provider in Staffordshire.”
Allan added: “Danny brings a wealth of experience across the public and private sector. We have no doubt he will be a key part of growing and driving quality in both businesses.”
