‘PROST’ TO NEWCASTLE FOR FIRST EVER OKTOBERFEST
A celebration centred around German beer and food is heading to Newcastle-under-Lyme for what is going to be a showcase Autumn event at the same time celebrating the most important date on Germany’s cultural calendar – with a huge weekend of traditional Bavarian entertainment, food and drink.
Supported by the oldest brewery in Germany, ABK – #OktoberfestNuL will have visitors raising their steins for a fun-packed event with live music in Bavarian style.
The event will take place inside a touring beer tent and the festival will showcase performers and oompah bands across two sessions.
To add to the festival, traditional German delights such as Pretzels and Bratwursts will be available during the day and evening, of 1st October.
Charl Pearce, Newcastle-under-Lyme BID Manager said: “This is the first time we will be hosting an Oktoberfest event in the town centre and it is going to be a great event in which we will be welcoming hundreds of people into the town.”
The Oktoberfest event will coincide with a relaunch of the BID’s Real Ale Trail which is aimed at supporting the ever growing community of Real Ale bars in the town centre that has become a major selling point of Newcastle’s hospitality industry.
A map of local bars will be available for collection at the Oktoberfest marquee on the day of the festival.
“We have been working with independent brewers and bars to design a new Ale Trail for to really enhance the customer journey around the town and highlight our independents,” adds Charl.
“The trail will be available on the day of Oktoberfest and the surrounding bars will also be
open. The whole celebration really is a reason to – Prost!”
Tickets are on sale for Oktoberfest priced from £10 per person with a VIP package for tables of 10 available for £500 with a commemorative Beer Stein provided with each ticket brought.
The time slots on the day are 12-4pm and 5-9pm. Visit https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/bidevents to book tickets.
