Staffordshire Under 18 Champion Dylan Cooper won his match to set an incredible club and league record having won all ten games that he played during the season.
Club organisers are now looking to attract more members for the new season which starts in September 2023.
Club President, Alberto Gissi, said: “We are proud of the result achieved – especially considering that at the beginning of the season we thought our opponents would be much stronger.
“A particular mention goes to Dylan Cooper – a junior who returned to the club this year and soon became our rising star winning all his games. Thanks also to Peter Hornsby, not only for his contribution over the board, but also for his massive help in improving the team bonding.
“On the back of this success we are hoping to enter a team in Division I next year and to attract new players in order to bring the club back to pre-Covid numbers.”
The Club meets every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm at the Bridge Club on Kings Street. Anyone interested in joining is asked to contact captain Alberto Gissi at albegissi@yahoo.it
