Roksana awarded Newcomer of the Year
Community care worker – Roksana Drzewick – who embarked on her career in care just six months ago, has been recognised for the impact she has made on people’s lives in a short space of time with a prestigious regional care award.
The Community Support Worker at Belong at Home Newcastle-under-Lyme, won
the Newcomer of the Year award at the West Midlands heat of the Great British Care Awards 2023.
Naturally compassionate, she made the decision to switch from office work after being inspired by the rewarding nature of caring for her grandmother, who lived with dementia, as well as her voluntary work at a local food bank.
Since joining the team in April, Roksana has received nothing but excellent feedback from customers and colleagues, the latter describing her as: “a great team player, who, in a short space of time, has proven her value to the care sector.”
The judges commented: “Roksana only joined the care sector in April, and the judges were incredibly impressed by her passion for the role and her ability to put her clients first. She gave excellent examples of the support she had given. Social care is lucky to have her!”
The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK acknowledging the dedication and professionalism of those working in the care sector. Winners from the regional finals advance to the national awards.
