Leek sister act building on rental success
Self-confessed property geeks Maxine Hughes and Mollie Murray are looking forward to progressing their innovative property-letting business after an exciting year.
The sisters, who run Leek based Westwood Lettings, have just completed their first twelve months as a letting agency for private landlords. Prior to that Westwood Lettings dealt mainly with property development and management of the company-owned property portfolio.
A decision to concentrate on the private lettings business and attract landlords seeking a fully managed property service saw eleven new landlords signing up in the first full year.
Maxine has been in the property business for 16 years and Mollie for five. They are both very experienced in all aspects of the property management market and are fastidious in their approach to matching people to property.
“For many tenants moving to rented property can be a stressful experience, especially
if it is due to a change in circumstances,” said Maxine. “We are very tenant focussed and offer the help and advice to ensure that the property they are renting is right for them. In short, we match people to properties and not the other way around. We also keep our administration to a minimum and will soon be moving to a digital signing system to
eliminate paperwork entirely.”
So far 2019 looks to be shaping up as good as, if not better than, the previous year.
Maxine added: “We are getting lots of interest from landlords who like our simple, people centred values and approach to quality service and value. This year, as well as building our portfolio, we will be concentrating on our brand and profile and continuing to look for fresh ways to be the best in a growing rental market.”
