Fundraising Lunch for Staffordshire Bereavement Charity
Local businesses are joining together for a charity lunch to help to raise awareness for Stafford and District Bereavement and Loss Support Service.
Personal Stylist and image consultant Allison Buckley along with Lynn Sumner from Tropic Skincare and Sonya Farrall from PR and media agency BabaBaboon will all be sharing expert tips and advice during the lunch, at The Potters Club on Thursday 10 November.
Proceeds from ticket sales will all go towards the charity, which was established in 1984 by Dr Linda Machin.
“We cannot thank Allison, Lynn and Sonya enough for their support for the event,” says senior administrator and fundraiser at the charity Lesley Bailey.
“We got chatting at a local business networking group called Sing 4 Business – who have also been very supportive of the charity – and the event grew from there.
“We are so pleased that representatives from the charity will be there, as well as many local businesses and guests.”
Allison Buckley said: “Lesley and the charity do amazing things and I want to help in any way possible. This event is going to be fun, but equally has a serious element to it too, in which we will be aiming to raise as much awareness for the charity as we can.”
Sonya Farrall added: “When asked to be involved in the event I didn’t hesitate to get involved and to help where I could. I am looking forward to joining everyone on the day and helping to raise awareness.”
Lynn says: “Loss is part of life, loss of people, places and objects that we hold dear. It can be experienced in major or minor ways, at any age and during this painful period of change and adjustment many of us would like someone to walk beside us. This is what Staffordshire and District Bereavement and Loss Support Service offers and I feel privileged to be able to support them through this event.”
In 2010 Stafford and District Bereavement and Loss Support Service (SDBLSS) entered into partnership with Katharine House Hospice but remains a registered independent charity which closely follows the guidelines of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
The charity aims to provide free, quality, caring and confidential bereavement support to adults in the local area via volunteer counsellors and support workers. Fundraising activities like the event on the 10 November, help to keep the service going.
The event on THURSDAY 10 NOVEMBER will start from 11:30am and tickets priced at £35 include a two-course lunch. For tickets contact The Potters Club on 01782 848869.
