awSCAPE shortlisted for Prestigious Business Awards
A landscape architect – who has built her business around a desire to create a more sustainable way of living – has been shortlisted for a prestigious business award.
Allison Walters founded awSCAPE in 2018 and has since gone on to work on various projects throughout the UK.
Now, just three-and-a-half years after starting on her venture, Allison, of Stoke-on-Trent has been shortlisted for the Sustainable Company of the Year in the Pro Landscaper Business Awards 2021.

“I was so surprised to be shortlisted,” said Allison (Pictured.)
“I decided to enter the awards just to see what would happen, but I never imagined I would now be in the finals and to be up against some fantastic businesses from all over the UK – it’s amazing. I am really looking forward to attending the event which will be taking place in London.”
The Pro Landscaper Business Awards, which are in their fourth successive year, celebrate excellent standards set within the landscape industry. They aim to recognise how well a business operates processes, staff training, health and safety records and positive customer feedback.
In the last couple of years awSCAPE has worked on 20 plus projects including work where Allison designed a courtyard nature garden for Woodland House at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. Other projects have included housing developments, Green Infrastructure projects, garden designs and solar farms.
Each project is carefully designed to have nature and sustainability at its fore.
Allison added: “Each project is very much about how we can bring nature and well being into a development. Sustainability is about having access to nature, wildlife and food from right outside of the front door wherever you are and each project we work on is bespoke to its location.”
Allison has more than 15 years experience as a landscape architect and in 2021 the mother of three also added the ‘Building with Nature Assessor’ status to her portfolio.
“The Building with Nature Assessor means I can ensure residential and commercial projects, incorporate high quality, accessible nature from start to finish,” says Allison.
“I have been able to be involved in some really interesting and exciting projects and the assessor status was something I was very keen to achieve as business continues to grow.”
The Pro Landscaper Business Awards will be held at East Wintergarden, in Canary Wharf, London on Friday 30 July.
