Viking Festival set for Staffordshire this summer
A family-friendly Viking festival is to take place during the summer holidays.
Mercia Distillery is thrilled to announce the Battle for Mercia for the third year in a row, which will be held at Bishton Hall, in Staffordshire on 10 and 11 August.
Various activities are set to take place including a Real Live Viking Encampment where visitors will have the opportunity to step back in time and explore a fully interactive Viking encampment as well meeting real-life Vikings and learn about their fascinating history and culture.
There will also be strong men and women competitions along with axe throwing and archery for both adults and children.
Artisan craft stalls and demonstrations will also be taking place – plus birds of prey displays.
A variety of food and drink options will be available from local street food vendors.
Chris Albutt, marketing director at Mercia Distillery, said: “We are excited to bring back the Battle for Mercia at Bishton Hall. This event is a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy an action packed, fun-filled day out while experiencing a taste of Viking history and culture.”
