Port Vale FC Community Hub hits landmark figure
The Port Vale FC Community Hubb have provided thousands of meals to help families during the Covid-19 crisis.
As of July 9, the PVFC Community Hubb had provided 100,000 meals as part of its work across Stoke-on-Trent in recent months.
As the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, Carol Shanahan and her businesses – including The Hubb Foundation, Port Vale Foundation, Port Vale Football Club, Summit Hospitality and Synectics Solutions – joined forces to reach out to as many families as possible.
Together with the help of volunteers, business partners and the people of Stoke-on-Trent, they have provided free meals, welfare packs and educational activities to families and children across the city.
Carol said: “This is a landmark figure for us and reflects the sheer hard work put in by many people behind the scenes to help the community in this time of need. Our volunteers turn out, day-after-day to support the cause. They are all balancing their own concerns in these difficult times but have come together to make a significant difference and show just what community really means.
Carol added: “The response from the business world in around Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire has also been amazing. We’ve forged partnerships with a wide-range of companies, and that has ensured we can offer the services and support needed in these unprecedented times.”
