New Business Networking events launched in exciting partnership
OWNERS of a luxury cocktail bar in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent have partnered with a local PR firm to bring a series of business networking events to the City.
Entrepreneurs Dereece Gardner and business partner Leeroy Chax opened the doors to Desire last year and have gone on to host various live music events at the Piccadilly location.
Visitors have enjoyed live music from several guest DJ’s during the evenings, whilst the daytime has welcomed professionals for after work meetings or afternoon teas.
Now, as part of the owners continued commitment to collaborating with other local businesses and encouraging partnerships throughout Stoke-on-Trent, they have joined forces with Sonya Farrall of BabaBaboon to run business-focused events at Desire.
“When we opened the doors to Desire our aim was to bring something different to Hanley – to bring a flavour of a big city to Stoke-on-Trent,” says Dereece.
“We are very passionate about the City, believe we have so much to offer including some amazing businesses, which is why we are now launching our new events with Sonya – who herself has years of experience running BabaBaboon. The business networking events are going to be something different, they will be relaxed, there will be a few twists – and they will be fun – we cannot wait.”
‘Networking with a Difference…’ is set to launch on Wednesday 25th September, from 5:30pm at Desire where attendees will be able to enjoy a selection of cheeses and wine as well as networking. Plus there will be quality prize giveaways and guest speakers. Businesses who attend will also have the opportunity to be included in a business feature, which will be published online, as well as featuring across Desire’s and BabaBaboon’s social media channels.
Sonya added: “Dereece and Leeroy have a lovely venue which has a brilliant, relaxed atmosphere for hosting something a little different and I am delighted to be working with the team on this new business networking venture.
“Networking can be so important for a business and Stoke-on-Trent has an abundance of great, great businesses and amazing entrepreneurs – just like Dereece and Leeory – so why not celebrate together, forge great relationships, collaborate and have fun at the same time.
“We are planning for each event to have a different theme and after each event a featured article will also be published on media platform BabaBaboon.co.uk with other content featuring across various social media channels.”
Leeroy – who opened his first barber shop aged 19, has gone on to own three barbers in Stoke-on-Trent – has recently celebrated 10-years in business, and often speaks out publicly about opportunities in Stoke-on-Trent.
“I was always told I could achieve anything with hard work,” says Leeroy, who also owns a tattoo studio and Unique hair academy.
“I believe that – and I also believe hard work, collaborations and supporting each other in business reaps the rewards. Everything I do also aims to bring communities together and that’s just as important in business. Networking with a Difference is what our business events are going to be – simple, fun and relaxed with opportunities aplenty which is why we working with Sonya and BabaBaboon.”
