In recognition of her technical excellence, continued professional development and motivating leadership approach, Newcastle and Stafford College Group’s (NSCG) Rosemary Wright has been nominated for Payroll Manager of the Year 2023 in the Global Payroll Awards.
Rosemary has led a small, but highly efficient payroll team at Staffordshire’s leading college for almost 19 years delivering a high volume of timely and accurate payroll transactions for over 800 members of staff.
Her exemplary commitment in keeping up to date in payroll legislation and new processes, and her significant contribution to technical excellence, has been recognised by her colleagues and external suppliers.
Rosemary is a member of the Local Government Pension Service (LGPS) Employer Focus Peer Group and uses her role to convey ideas to the group and to keep her team abreast of any new or changing processes or legislation.
Rosemary is a driving force for cost savings, improved processes and achieving corporate objectives, this reflected in her being pivotal in a move towards paperless processing of the payroll. This resulted in monetary savings for the College and improved efficiency through electronic communications.
NSCG’s Director of Human Resources & Communications, Ian Hookway said: “I am delighted that Rosemary has been nominated for this prestigious award as she is a shining example of what a good manager should be. She is well liked and respected by her team, who thrive under her leadership and guidance.
“Rosemary leads and motivates by example, she is encouraging, supportive, flexible, patient and great fun to work with. Her management style brings out the best in her team, who are all well trained and have all the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver in a busy, demanding role.”
“The winner of this award will be announced on 8th June 2023 at The National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh so we wish Rosemary the best of luck”
