Newcastle and Kidsgrove Town Deal Investment Plans – Call for projects
Residents, organisations and businesses are being invited to submit project or investment ideas that could be included in Town Deal Investment Plans for Newcastle-under-Lyme and Kidsgrove.
Any suggested projects or investments should fit with the three themes of the Town Deal Fund and improve Newcastle-Under-Lyme or Kidsgrove as a place to live and work.
AECOM – an independent infrastructure consultancy – have been commissioned by Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council to develop plans with each one aiming to secure up to £25m of Town Deal funding from the UK Government to improve Newcastle-under-Lyme’s and Kidgrove’s economy.
Town Deals are primarily focused on capital projects to build, improve, maintain, or develop assets within the following three themes:
Urban regeneration, planning and land use – ensuring towns are thriving places for people to live and work, including by improving town centres, strengthening local economic assets including local cultural assets and redeveloping vacant sites.
Skills and enterprise: driving private sector investment and ensuring towns have the space to support skills and small business development.
Connectivity: improving transport and digital connectivity.
Anyone who would like to submit their project or investment ideas are asked to complete a survey online by going to https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CallforTownDealprojects
The closing date for responses is 5th June 2020.
