Jaguar retailer renews local rugby club sponsorship
Crewe based Jaguar retailer, Swansway Jaguar Crewe celebrates its second consecutive year of sponsoring Staffordshire’s premier senior rugby club, playing in the Midlands 2 West (N), Longton Rugby Club.
North West based, family owned and run Swansway Motor Group who operate the Jaguar centre on Crewe Green Roundabout have renewed their club sponsorship for the first time after a successful year-long relationship which began back in 2019.
Matt Hill, Head of Business at Swansway Jaguar Crewe, commented, “This year more than ever, we wanted to continue to show our support to a local sports team because as an industry, like many others, contact sport has suffered due to the pandemic.
“We use sports whether as participants or spectators to feel part of a community which we believe has been hugely missed during 2020. Trentham Lakes is a relatively new area for us to be the local Jaguar retailer for so we wanted to ensure we are supporting the local community there. Longton Rugby Club has similar values to our business in that they focus on the development of high calibre mens, ladies and junior players whilst remaining a family rugby club. Here at Swansway Jaguar Crewe we do the same whether it’s a new customer from the Stoke-On-Trent area of a new team member.”
Doug Finney, Chairman of Longton Rugby Club, added “We were absolutely delighted when Swansway Jaguar Crewe renewed their sponsorship of the club when so many are cutting back. The agreement helps fund kits for one of our juniors teams as well as our senior team. We’re very grateful to Swansway for renewing their support to the club and we very much look forward to working together into 2021 and beyond.”
Swansway, whose head office is also based in Crewe, opened 17 years ago with only five car dealerships to its name and has grown to 23 dealerships selling new and used cars representing many different car brands including Audi, Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, SEAT, Peugeot, Honda, Jaguar and Land Rover as well its own multi-franchise used car division, Motor Match.
