Shoppers visiting their local markets this Christmas could be in with chance of winning £100.
Indoor markets in Stoke, Hanley, Longton and Tunstall are getting into the Christmas spirit with some magical events and visits from Father Christmas who will be flying in from the North Pole.
Hanley market: Hanley market grotto is open 10am to 3pm on 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21 and 23 December. The market will also be hosting a Snow Queen sing along on Saturday 14 December, 11am to 2pm.
Stoke market: At Stoke market you can book your festive family breakfast with Santa on Saturday 14 December at 9am and Christmas dinner with Santa on Saturday 21 December at 12pm. They will also be hosting a Snow Queen sing along on Saturday 7 December, 11am to 2pm.
Longton market: Longton market grotto will be open every Saturday from the 30 November. Plus visit the markets Christmas makers market on Saturday 30 November, 9am to 4pm to find the perfect Christmas gifts. The market will be holding a traditional Christmas event on Saturday 7 December where shoppers can play traditional games and listen to music from the Salvation Amy. As well as hosting a Snow Queen sing along on Saturday 21 December, 11am to 2pm.
Tunstall market: On Saturday 30 November Tunstall Market will have their winter wonderland event with Christmas carols, Christmas parade and Santa’s grotto.
To celebrate the season of goodwill, shoppers can enter a competition to win £100 at each of the four indoor markets and the King’s Christmas market on Sunday, December 1 at the King’s Hall, Stoke. All you have to do is fill in an entry form at any of the markets and post it into the dedicated post box. One winner will be drawn for each market and will receive £100. The closing date for entries is 24 December.
Councillor Carl Edwards, cabinet member for environment said: “All of the markets have worked hard to put on some brilliant festive events and competitions for visitors to enjoy. The markets are great places to shop, with a variety of stalls all under one roof. Visit over the festive period to stock up on your Christmas produce and gifts whilst enjoying events for the whole family.”
