Centre Space Arts launch SOT100
Centre space Arts, a city centre based arts organisation, is celebrating 100 years of Stoke-on-Trent by seeking out, photographing and telling the stories of 100 people from the city to create a beautifully crafted book and launch exhibition.
This unique project is designed to capture the rich and diverse lives of local people to celebrate its industrial roots, creativity and culture.
The projects will be undertaken by David Fletcher and Sarah Peart who are part of the Centre Space Arts ‘family’ of professional artists, producers, film makers and creatives.
The team are asking people of the city to get involved from all backgrounds
including lifelong locals to newcomers to Stoke-on-Trent to share their stories.
David and Sarah will be focussed on taking portraits of people somewhere that’s
meaningful to them and where they feel most comfortable.
This will be accompanied by an informal chat to understand the story behind the image which will provide context and some quotes for the portrait itself.
Sarah said: “We would be honoured to share as many stories as we can of people from the city. We want to show the world that Stoke is full of good people and kindness.”
