One Year for Business Spotlight
A RADIO show which is dedicated to showcasing Staffordshire businesses is celebrating after reaching it’s first major milestone.
Business Spotlight was launched on 13 November 2023, following a partnership between Cross Rhythms City Radio and PR firm BabaBaboon.
Since the launch the show has broadcast more than 50 episodes – which have all featured different businesses each time with interviews recorded with host and BabaBaboon founder – Sonya Farrall – at the community radio station studio in Hanley.
Business Spotlight has featured all sizes of businesses such as the likes of Overclockers, Ironmarket Wealth, Strategi, DJH, Minerva Financial Solutions and Abacus Training.
Plus charities Emmaus North Staffs and the YMCA North Staffordshire have had the opportunity to discuss business matters along with some Community Interest Companies such as Positive People Empowerment and Framescape.
In October Chris Plant, Deputy Chief Executive of the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce also appeared on the show.
“To be totally honest I did not know what to expect when we first launched Business Spotlight, but the first year has been really well received,” says Sonya.
“The number of businesses which have been on the show is brilliant and it’s been a really good thing to do in helping to share their news and views.
“We have featured a different business each week since we launched and as we move forward I am looking forward to bringing in some additional features.”
Jonathan Bellamy, CEO of Cross Rhythms City Radio, said: “Since its launch in 2002, as the UK’s first community radio station, Cross Rhythms has been serving and profiling the spectrum of life right across the city and region, from charities and community groups to entertainment and events, local politics, health, education, youth and faith sectors.
“Over all that time I would say that Business Spotlight stands out as the best regular programme we have run that highlights the breadth of business life across our region. We couldn’t be more proud of the show, the voice it is bringing to support our local businesses and the ideas we have for developing it further in the coming year.”
All interviews for Business Spotlight are video and audio recorded and as well as being broadcast across frequencies 101.8FM and 96.6FM, content is also published across the radio station’s social media platforms. BabaBaboon also publishes content on social media platforms as well as on their own news website – www.babababoon.co.uk Guests also have access to content for free to use as they wish.
On Wednesday 13 November, Business Spotlight is going on location to ‘Networking with a difference…’ and on Thursday 5 December CONNECTS Networking have been invited into the studio where guests will be invited to feature their business elevator pitch in a special Business Spotlight episode with host Sonya.
Cross Rhythms City Radio is a charity in itself and a community station. Sponsorship opportunities are now available for Business Spotlight which include special mentions throughout the show as well as inclusion in the station’s dedicated newsletter which goes out to 3000 subscribers.
