Britain’s Got Talent star heading to the New Vic

ben-hart

Ben Hart’s award-winning, subversive and powerful magic earned him a place in the Britain’s Got Talent final last year. Now, fresh from performing in the West End and ‘inventing’ magic tricks for the likes of Mischief Theatre’s Magic Goes Wrong, Ben is embarking on his debut solo tour, which visits the New Vic on Monday 30 March.

In Wonder, expect Ben’s most mind-blowing and exciting magic with a show that shines a light on magic, life, the universe and the darkest corners of your imagination. With the simplest of props, using the objects and minds of the audience, Ben Hart conjures an altogether new kind of magic.

Funny, often dark and always amazing, Ben has established a reputation for creating wonderfully alternative illusions. At the age of 16 he was awarded the prestigious Young Magician of the Year award by the Magic Circle and is one of the youngest ever members of The Inner Magic Circle (with gold star) – the highest level of the famous Magic Circle. He’s the star of Killer Magic, Ben Hart’s Life Hacks Hoax (both BBC3), Now You See It (BBC1), The One Show, Len Goodman’s Partners in Rhyme and countless other TV appearances in the UK and abroad. When not performing magic Ben invents writes and directs magic tricks and illusions for TV, theatre and film. His ideas have been performed by some of the top magicians working in the world and he has designed illusions for The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Globe, and was the mind behind the acclaimed special effects in the west end production of The Exorcist.

“To be a magician, you have to enjoy the puzzle,” said Ben. “I try and think of an impossible thing and then figure out how to make it possible. My aim is to create something really baffling. Wonder will be a great introduction for people who haven’t seen my shows before but know me from Britain’s Got Talent.”

Ben Hart takes to the New Vic stage with his Wonder tour on Monday 30 March 2020. Tickets are on sale now, priced at £18.00, from the Box Office and can be booked by calling 01782 717962 or online at newvictheatre.org.uk.
