BRAND New Warehouse and Shop for Emmaus North Staffs
Charity Emmaus North Staffs are opening a brand new warehouse close to its new shop in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
The new location for Emmaus’s “Furniture & Home Warehouse” – formerly Furniture Mine – is Etruria Road, opposite the Octagon Retail Park and will stock large household items.
The warehouse will be open from Monday 30 May and will be open to the public six days a week.
The move follows the opening of the charity’s brand new store, which opened in The Potteries Centre on Monday 23 May.
Speaking about the changes, Emmaus North Staffs, Executive Lead John Webbe said: “This is a big year for us. We’ve been really excited to have our flagship store in a more visible location in Stoke-on-Trent. Our newly named Furniture & Home Warehouse will sell a huge range of quality second-hand furniture, clothes, bric-a-brac, electrical items, plus brand new divan beds, mattresses and white goods. Also on site will be our Charity Donation Station, where people can drop-off items to be resold. We will also still be offering our free delivery and collection service if a donated piece of furniture is too large for someone to transport.”
John adds: “The new warehouse is going to be a huge benefit for the charity and the local community. Customers will have the opportunity to view and purchase larger items for the home in a bigger more accessible environment. We are also a stone’s throw away from our brand new store in the Potteries Centre – which specialises in second-hand clothing, shoes, books, music, film, bric-a-brac and small furniture items plus a showroom area for new beds, mattresses, and white goods available to order.”
Emmaus North Staffs social enterprise, which opened in 1991 as ‘North Staffordshire Furniture Mine’, and has been based at Cannon Street, Hanley for 9 years and has become the largest furniture and household charity shop in North Staffordshire.
Funds raised at the relocated store and warehouse will continue to help Emmaus North Staffs tackle furniture poverty in the local area. Each year, the charity partners with local councils and housing associations to offer free items to over 850 households without access to essential furniture and appliances.
